Join the EPIP DC Steering Committee

logoWe're seeking leaders to serve on EPIP DC's steering committee beginning January 2015. The EPIP national network and its Washington D.C. chapter (EPIP DC) are at an exciting moment in their evolution. We're looking for motivated persons who are committed to the mission of EPIP and who are passionate about developing and supporting the emerging leaders of DC. EPIP DC has a variety of leadership positions and roles for steering committee members. The following outlines expectations and responsibilities of all steering committee members:

All Steering Committee Members will:

  1. Attend at least 75% of Steering Committee meetings, preferably in-person
  2. Attend as many EPIP chapter events as possible and encourage attendance among colleagues and EPIP members
  3. Engage members and recruit new members
  4. Plan or otherwise provide significant leadership for at least one event per year
  5. Represent EPIP DC and EPIP National
  6. Seek out and build relationships with other groups and leaders in the field
  7. Volunteer to assist with communications, membership and programs as necessary

Duties may include:

  • Identify program topics, speakers and events
  • Secure guest speakers and event venues
  • Organize event logistics (name tags, signage, agendas, food, etc)
  • Promote events through social media, email and personal outreach
  • Manage event registration
  • Follow-up with event attendees to encourage participation
  • Meet with prospective and new EPIP members
  • Provide content for monthly newsletters and chapter blog
  • Promote EPIP presence on Twitter
