Human Resources Intern (PIN)

The Public Interest Network is a citizen-based advocacy organization that looks for solutions to help the environment and consumers, and to expand voting rights. Our professional staff combine independent research, practical ideas, and tough-minded advocacy to overcome the opposition of powerful special interests and win real results for the country. The Public Interest Network draws on 45 years of success in tackling the country’s top political problems.

We need a detail-oriented Human Resources Intern who enjoys interacting with people and who wants to learn about recruiting candidates for multiple organizations. Skills learned include: posting to job boards, recruiting alumni and current students, entry-level graphic design, and building up a social media presence.

This is an unpaid internship, and we are willing to help you receive class credit in exchange for your hours. This is also an educational internship, and you will be learning skills such as advocacy, writing, research, human resources, and communications.

 

Qualifications:

Interns should be interested in creating social change and/or passionate about political issues and interested in learning the necessary skills for recruiting. 

 

Responsibilities:

• Post job descriptions to multiple job boards

• Use social media to reach potential candidates

• Data entry

• Learn and utilize a large database with sensitive information

• Compile weekly numbers tracking sources of applications
