Executive Director

After 5 years of leadership at Bolder Giving, we're excited to wish our outgoing Executive Director Jason Franklin the best of luck as he prepares to move to Michigan to become the first WK Kellogg Chair in Community Philanthropy. The board of directors of Bolder Giving has launched a search to find the next leader who will continue to grow, evolve and expand the work of Bolder Giving to inspire and support people to give.

About Bolder Giving

Bolder Giving seeks nothing less than to transform the collective culture of giving and expand philanthropic giving. Our mission is to inspire and support people to give to their full lifetime potential toward a just and sustainable world. Guided by a commitment to environmental, social, economic, and racial justice, we aim to spark a groundswell of philanthropic generosity and support people across the economic spectrum to:

• Give More - increase their giving as a percent of income, assets or business profits;

• Risk More - shift how they give by exploring opportunities to give collaboratively, to communities most in need, to social change and entrepreneurial efforts; and

• Inspire More - spark discussions about giving with others and share their giving stories to provide a catalyst for new conversations.

Founded in 2007 by Anne & Christopher Ellinger and building on their 25 years of donor organizing experience, Bolder Giving focuses its work on collecting and sharing the stories of amazing Bold Givers to inspire others and providing the tools and support to help people translate that inspiration into action. In 2010 Melinda Gates credited Bolder Giving as an inspiration for the Giving Pledge and the Gates Foundation awarded a three-year scale up grant to the organization. That funding enabled Bolder Giving to bring on its first full-time executive director and over the last five years, Bolder Giving has continued to grow, developed a robust and diverse range of programming, and expanded its reach across the US and internationally. Now, Bolder Giving seeks a new Executive Director to sustain and focus this programmatic growth, to strengthen the organizational infrastructure needed for our next stage of development, and deepen our engagement with our Bold Givers and partners in the field to advance Bolder Giving’s mission.
