EPIP Leadership Update

A Statement from the EPIP Board of Advisors:

After nearly four years, Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy (EPIP) and our Executive Director, Tamir Novotny, have parted ways.

A former EPIP chapter leader, Tamir brought his belief in EPIP’s members and his commitment to social justice to advance EPIP’s work. EPIP’s shared accomplishments during his tenure include our 2017 strategic plan, which shifted EPIP’s central focus to advancing equity; the release of EPIP’s Dissonance & Disconnects report, which gave voice to the experiences of early- and mid-career practitioners and garnered the attention of the philanthropic sector; and the expansion of EPIP’s membership.

We have deep appreciation for Tamir’s stewardship of EPIP. He has made a lasting impression on the organization and we will always be grateful to him. We wish him the best in his future endeavors,” says Nakisha M. Lewis, EPIP Board Chair.

Tamir has expressed similar gratitude. “It’s been an incredible privilege to serve this community, and this is a perfect time for new leadership to step in,” says Tamir. “From its members and chapter leaders to its staff and board, The EPIP Community has great power, and I can’t wait to see what it achieves from here. I look forward to supporting EPIP’s work in the years to come in any way I can.

Through this leadership transition, EPIP remains committed to achieving its mission to empower emerging leaders and elevate philanthropic practice in order to build a more just, equitable and sustainable world. EPIP’s staff remain focused on moving our work forward, and we will share details on EPIP’s transition plans as soon as they are available. In the meantime, please join us in thanking Tamir for his service and wishing him well.

In service,
