Yeshivat Chovevei Torah Rabbinical School is seeking an experienced development professional to fill the position of Director of Development. Founded in 1999, YCT is a Modern Orthodox rabbinical school that views Orthodox Judaism as an intellectually rich, questioning, spiritual and inclusive Jewish movement. The Yeshiva’s mission is to professionally train rabbis who will shape the spiritual and intellectual character of the Jewish community in consonance with modern Orthodox values and commitments.

Since its inception, YCT has raised over $35 million. It currently has annual revenue of $3.5 million. To celebrate our 18th anniversary, we will be launching a special 3-year campaign aimed at dramatically increasing our revenue.

Position
YCT seeks an entrepreneurial, sophisticated strategist to be the conductor of the YCT orchestra of fundraising. The qualified candidate will fine-tune and execute a plan that grows our campaign through a sustainable and stable annual campaign as well as special gifts (targeted gifts, endowment and possible capital). The Director of Development (DoD) will spearhead development efforts as YCT continues to grow. He or she will have the opportunity to create and manage a MOVES management program that includes the creation of a donor recognition program and the disciplined use of Individual Donor Plans for all major donors and prospects.

Reporting to and guiding the President, the DoD will have the opportunity to build upon our early success. A development plan has been created with the help of a consultant and lays out how YCT can raise $18 million over a 3-year campaign. The plan endeavors to be directive while still leaving room for a skilled director of development to lend their experience, creativity, and ideas.

Our ideal candidate:
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 7 years fundraising experience with a proven track record of closing high 6-figure and 7-figure gifts, an understanding of and passion for YCT’s mission and vision, and the excellent interpersonal and communication skills necessary to work effectively with faculty, staff, donors and foundations. He or she should have experience with MOVES management, planned giving and grant proposal writing. Knowledge of Donor Perfect is helpful.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred

- A deep understanding of and commitment to YCT’s mission and vision and thorough
knowledge of the Modern Orthodox community

- Strong organizational and time management skills
