Become an EPIP Boston Ambassador or Join an EPIPhany Group

EPIP Boston is thrilled to offer our community two new programs that provide opportunities for leadership within the chapter and deeper engagement with fellow members.

The Ambassador program offers committed EPIP Boston members a greater level of involvement with driving chapter operations. Ambassadors work with Steering Committee officers who oversee our programming, membership, and communications functions to help EPIP fulfill its mission of providing professional development and networking opportunities to philanthropic practitioners working in the Boston metropolitan area. Steering Committee Officers will work with each Ambassador to tailor projects--such as member outreach, event planning, and developing communications content--that ensure professional or personal goals are being met through the program.

EPIPhany Groups are a pilot initiative of EPIP Boston giving members a chance to connect with one another on shared interests. Members self-identify for a group with common interest areas and based on group consensus may choose to meet for in-person discussions or simply communicate via email with questions or suggested readings to help advance their work. A Steering Committee officer will serve as the point person for each EPIPhany group, facilitating interactions and functioning as a resource on all EPIP Boston or National related questions.

Members can sign up for either program here.

EPIP Boston February events

EPIP Boston is happy to offer our members two opportunities next week to learn how to make the most of your networks!

Join us first on Tuesday, February 19th from 6:00 - 8:00 pm for the Art and Science of Networking. In this highly interactive session, Maya Townsend of Partnering Resources will draw on insights from researchers and practitioners in the social sciences and in business to learn about the networking practices of high performers. We dispel the myth that people who want strong networks should never eat alone and, instead, we learn about the simple actions that significantly contribute to the health of your network. Register now to join us at The Boston Foundation next Tuesday!

Then, join us the morning of Friday, February 22nd to continue the conversation at our bi-monthly Breakfast Discussion series. This month, we'll meet at Panera Bread in the Theatre District to discuss a new report from Monitor Institute and Grantmakers for Effective Organizations, Catalyzing Networks for Social Change, on how to tackle the complexity of 21st-Century problems with a diverse group of stakeholders. Read about insights to these issues from a wide variety of funders and then come discuss how we can apply them to our everyday work--or share ideas of your own! With limited space available, EPIP members will be given precedence for attendance. Take advantage of your EPIP membership by signing up today!

We hope to see you all out at our events this month!

EPIP Boston Recognizes Rusty Stahl

This month Rusty Stahl completes his 10-year term as Founder and Executive Director at EPIP. To commemorate his service to the organization and its national network of constituents, earlier this week EPIP launched a "Recognizing Rusty" drive to raise a modest $5,000 in his name for the future of the organization.

Rusty has been a visionary and vocal leader for people entering the field of philanthropy and has helped EPIP influence countless members over the past decade, both in Boston and around the country. Here is what some of our local Steering Committee members had to say about Rusty and EPIP:
