Explore a variety of funding approaches through presentations, discussions, graded assignments, and problem-solving exercises for groups and individuals. If you are an independent philanthropist, a member of philanthropic family, or a professional grantmaker with just a few years of experience in grantmaking, this intensive is designed for you. Professional fundraisers are not eligible for this course.
July 14 – July 18, 2014
9:30am – 5:00pm
This advanced seminar is only open to funders with five or more years of experience as grantmakers, or to alumni of past NYU mini-intensives, or recipients of the Certificate in Grantmaking and Foundations. Each time the course is offered, the content is updated based on recommendations of the larger philanthropy field. Previous sessions have focused on the many meanings of “impact philanthropy”, emerging models of grantmaker-grantee relations, methodologies to address systemic societal issues, social entrepreneurship, and more.
These courses are coordinated by Richard Marker, an internationally known thought leader in the grantmaking and philanthropy field. He will be joined by several highly respected and prominent philanthropy experts.
