“Green Women, Healthy Voices” Community Event

“The bottom line is that people just can’t afford good food. So we don’t buy the good food, we buy the cheapest food we know – the bad food – because it’s cheap and affordable.” - Violet Lavatai, Skyway resident & single parent
Join the Women in the Green Economy Project for the release of their report from their Southeast Seattle survey of low-income women and women of color about their needs and priorities for the green economy.
The issue of economic access to healthy foods has emerged as a top priority and as such, they have formed a grassroots “Food Access” committee to work on the issue.
